AMERICAN SIGN LANGUAGE

Lakeland Community College offers an Associate's in Applied Science degree in American Sign Language studies. This program and our courses engage student in American Sign Language and the history, literature, and issues related to deaf culture and the deaf community. Students interested in taking a few American Sign Language courses but not interested in majoring in it should consider Lakeland's Associate of Arts degree.

Students interested in pursuing a four-year degree in American Sign Language, communication studies, humanities, or another related field should consult with a Lakeland counselor and the Transfer Center as soon as possible to maximize course transferability.
