Program Goals

Goal #1: Students will apply knowledge of medical sciences and principles of regulatory compliance to accurately assign codes to patient charts.

  • Students will assign codes using encoder software.
  • Students will locate information in the electronic health record.

Goal #4: Students will meet revenue cycle requirements.

  • Students will display knowledge of the revenue cycle.
  • Students will develop coding compliance strategies.

Goal #5: Students will use critical thinking and analytic skills in health information technology practices.
