Transfer Credit Policy

Lakeland Community College holds policies regarding transfer of credits from accredited and non-accredited medical assisting programs.

Lakeland Community College Medical Assisting Program Credit Transfer Policy:

  • The medical assisting credits received must fall within a 36 month period prior to the date of graduation from the program. No credits will be accepted from non-accredited programs. Accreditation agencies that meet the requirements are: CAAHEP, ABHES and those from the armed services.
  • Fifty (50) percent of the required medical assisting academic credits from the accredited program must be acquired from the accredited program granting the degree/diploma/certificate.
  • The practicum requirement must be excluded in the academic credit transfer of fifty (50) percent. The practicum requirements must be met at the accredited program granting the degree/diploma/certificate.
