Sales Assessment and Sales Management Coaching Program

The Ohio SBDC at Lakeland Community College is excited to announce a new FREE advisory program for small businesses as part of our portfolio of advisory services. We are partnering with Keylan Management Group to offer the following consulting services:

Sales Audit and Assessment

This consulting engagement consists of a thorough assessment of your existing sales processes, structure, reporting, organization, accountability, goals, and vision for your sales team. It provides a gap analysis between the current state and desired future state of your sales team and guidance to implement and achieve proposed recommendations. The key deliverable of the Sales Audit and Assessment is a Sales Playbook which serves as a manual or SOP (standard operating procedure) for driving sales effectiveness and business development while creating the necessary sales infrastructure to scale your business.

Sales Management Coaching

As the business owner, are you also managing your sales team? Do you desire sales leadership for your company but can't justify the cost of a full-time, dedicated sales manager? Do you want to grow top-line revenue but don't feel you are best suited to lead your sales team? With sales management consulting services, business owners can focus on the rest of their company's operations. This engagement assists with developing metrics to hold sales reps accountable, field observation and coaching, sales training, pipeline management, strategic sales guidance, and the selection and implementation of a CRM (sales force automation system). Expected outcomes include improvements in sales effectiveness and efficiency, organization and structure, clarity and accountability, business development, pipeline management, and sales, all led by a senior sales management consultant.

Keylan Management Group specializes in helping small and medium-sized businesses improve their selling and leadership effectiveness delivered by a team of veteran leaders with extensive sales, sales management and leadership experience.

Small Business Manufacturers and Wholesale Distributors

The Ohio SBDC at Lakeland Community College is now offering a FREE Operational Review for Business to Business Small Companies in Lake and Geauga Counties. Our expert SBDC Business Advisor, Jim Gray, will work with you in person at your place of business to uncover any shortcomings and provide guidance on improvement.

In the day-to-day activities of your business, it can be difficult to get a sense of whether the entity is functioning as effectively as possible. Operational reviews are the perfect tool to help business owners and operating executives take a closer look at the organization, flagging any issues, whether it is communication, process, quality, staffing, etc., that affect the company's performance.

Please note that this service provides an overview and will not go as in depth as a normal review. Though it can uncover:

  • Is the business organized in the optimal manner to support its mission and objectives?
  • Are day-to-day operations working as efficiently as they could, particularly in certain areas?
  • Are the right people in place to perform the necessary tasks?
  • Are sufficient resources available to allow employees to fulfill their responsibilities?

Jim Gray is an Engineer, Operations Strategist and Business Solutions Advisor at JPG Advisors, LLC. Jim also has executive experience in small and midsize manufacturing companies.
