High
School sophomores are eligible to sign up
in the 10th grade for a Tech Prep program
to BEGIN in their junior year of High School.
Prospective Tech Prep students must meet
the following minimum requirements:
Prerequisites:
- Have passed
college prep algebra with a ‘C” or
better
- Have at least a 2.0 grade point
average.
- Have Junior standing with no
academic deficiencies.
- Allied Health:
complete biology I with a grade of “C” or
better
Preferences:
- Computer keyboarding
skills.
- Good attendance.
Students can find out more about Tech Prep
and their eligibility through their high
school guidance counselor. Some programs
are available at the student’s home
school, while others are available at Career
Centers or on the Lakeland Community College
campus. High school guidance counselors can
advise students about their options.
