To help protect your privacy, Lakeland Community College has assigned a Lakeland ID number (LID) to you. This number is a different number than your social security number.

This personal number will be yours forever. You will be able to access your academic records and register through web access using this LID.

Do I need a Lakeland ID card?
You do not need a Lakeland ID card to use your LID. If you want a free Lakeland ID card, visit the Athletic Fitness Center or the Lakeland Library.

You may use this card for:
· Gym admission
· Free Laketran pass
· Photo ID
· Lakeland library use/access

Will I need my social security # at LCC?
Yes. You will need to provide your SS # for financial aid, selective service compliance, and IRS reporting of the Hope Scholarship Credit and when you initially apply to the college, but it will not be used other than required by law.

How do I find out what my LID is?
It will be printed on all of your schedules, financial aid notices, and tuition bills where your social security number was previously printed as well as on the bottom portion of your schedule, which is used to pay tuition.

What if I forget my LID?
Present a photo ID at the Admissions Office and you will be given your LID number.

Students -- Get to know your NEW Lakeland email account

Lakeland Community College provides students with an email account. In order to ensure that we are working with you specifically; faculty and staff will require communications through your student account.

You can access your email 2 ways:

The email address is in the form username@mail.lakelandcc.edu, where username is your first initial and last name plus a number.

Your username is on the confirmation email that will be sent to your personal email account at the point of acceptance to Lakeland Community College. Your initial password will be your LID also included on the confirmation email. You will change your password the first time you use the student email system.

Your storage space is 10mb and attachments are limited to 2mb.

Using POP access:

Use of POP access rather than forwarding your Lakeland email is recommended.

POP/POP3 is a way for you to view your email from other email systems such as your phone, Outlook, or web-based email like Yahoo or Google.
