  <answer>Blackboard is a course management system that allows for dynamic learning to occur in the online environment. The tools provided by the Blackboard software allow students and faculty to post and share documents and other course content, write via email and posted discussion boards, and even have synchronous, or real-time conversations in a virtual classroom. </answer>

  <question>Blackboard tells me that I am not enrolled in any courses</question>
  <answer>Your instructor may not have made your class available to you yet. If you are taking courses that do not start until the 5th, 8th, or 10th week of the term, your class information make not be posted. Double check your scheduled start dates. Alternately, your instructor from last term may have not turned off the previous class site. Only the courses that your instructor has chosen to use in Blackboard will appear in your My Courses list. Contact your instructor if you do not see a course listed that you believe should be available.</answer>

  <question>AOL Users having difficulty using Blackboard</question>
  <answer><![CDATA[ The America Online (AOL) browser does
have some limitations when attempting to view Blackboard. While it is possible to use AOL
with Blackboard, it is not recommended. Here are some known problems, and some tips to help you if you are having trouble using AOL with Blackboard: ]]>
<liF><![CDATA[ DO NOT use AOL to take online exams with Blackboard. There are many known inconsistencies between Blackboard and AOL, and taking exams while using AOL can cause "lock-ups", "time-outs", and "incomplete submissions" of exams and tests taken on Blackboard while using AOL. ]]></liF>
<liF><![CDATA[ DO NOT use the AOL Browser to view/navigate the Blackboard site. The AOL browser causes many pages to constantly ask you to re-login with each visit to the page which can be very annoying. ]]></liF>

	<question>What if I want to use my AOL browser?</question>
	<answer>If you must use AOL, please do the following in order to access Blackboard:
    <liF>First, login to AOL as you normally do.</liF>
     <liF>Once, you have successfully logged into AOL, minimize the AOL browser.</liF>
    <liF>Click on Start, Programs, and open Internet Explorer.</liF>
    <liF>Type http://bb.lakelandcc.edu into the address bar of Internet Explorer.</liF>
    <liF>Login to Blackboard with your username and password.</liF>

		<question>How do I get around the AOL Inactivity Timer</question>
		<answer>When AOL is not in use while you are working on your
class using Internet Explorer, AOL will consider the user inactive and will
disconnect the user after a period of time. To remain active and avoid being
disconnected, return to the main page of AOL (every half hour or so) and do something in AOL. Following one or all of these tips will reset the AOL inactivity timer. Then continue working on your online course using Blackboard and Internet Explorer.</answer>

  <question>How do I increase the text size in the browser?</question>
  <answer>If you have Internet Explorer, find the View menu (usually on the top of the browser page), and select Text Size, from the sub-menu, select the font size you would like. Please note this only works for web pages. If the font is too small in a different document, you will need to read the help files or other documentation that came with the computer program. </answer>
