<question>Banner: What is it?</question>
<answer><![CDATA[ Banner is the name of the product that runs "behind" Lakeland Online. In general, you need a special account and password to get to directly to the information stored here: see your supervisor for additional information. Before Lakeland Online earned it's name, it was called just Banner. You may then hear Banner as the generic name for all student, financial aid, human resources, faculty, and other services. ]]></answer>

<question>Blackboard: What and where is it?</question>
<answer><![CDATA[ Blackboard is a course management system that allows for dynamic learning to occur in the online environment. The tools provided by the Blackboard software allow students and faculty to post and share documents and other course content, write via email and posted discussion boards, and even have synchronous, or "real-time" conversations in a virtual classroom. Your username is obtained from your Lakeland email account. For example, John Smith's email is jsmith12@mail.lakelandcc.edu so his username is jsmith12. Your password is your Lakeland Identification Number (LID). This 8 digit number can be found on your course schedule, grade report or your Lakeland invoice. <question>myLakeland</question>
<answer>Lakeland OnLine is one stop shopping to allow students to register for courses and pay bills, and for faculty to view course rosters and enter grades. There are many other functions available as well. Your User ID is your Lakeland I.D. number (LID). To help protect your privacy, Lakeland Community College has assigned a Lakeland I.D. number (LID) to you. This number is a different number than your social security number and will be yours forever. Your password/Personal Identification Number (PIN) is created at the same time as your LID. If this is your first login, your PIN will be your birthdate [mmddyy]. After your first login, you will be prompted to change your PIN.
