The Ohio Small Business Development Center (SBDC) provides various management assistance to existing and start-up businesses. This is mainly accomplished through one-on-one counseling sessions. These services are offered at no cost to the client.

SBDC Services include:
  • Starting a business in Ohio
    • Licenses and permits, forms of ownership
    • Referrals to other agencies
  • Business Plans and Financial Projections
  • Marketing, Sales and Advertising
  • Financing options, referrals to:
    • Local Funding Sources
    • Microloans State Programs
    • Small Business Administration Programs
  • Business Assistance Resources Available

Workshops for Business

COSE Business Space
In partnership with COSE, Lakeland offers small businesses free access to fully equipped, professional office space at the main campus in Kirtland. The space includes a printer and copier, three telephones and three computer stations. COSE members are also able to reserve a nearby training room and conference room free of charge.

Fast Track 50 Entrepreneur of the Year Award
In partnership with the Lake County Port Authority, the Center sponsors an "Entrepreneur of the Year Award" which recognizes and honors a local entrepreneur at the annual Fast Track 50 awards event.
