Health professionals can gain important skills through Community Learning classes offered at Lakeland. Classes are designed for nurses, day care professionals, social workers, EMTs, paramedics, doctors and other healthcare and mental health professionals.

As a Training Center of the American Heart Association, Lakeland offers CPR training with Automated External Defribrillation, Heartsaver First Aid, BLS, and ACLS.

Additional classes are offered on injury prevention, emergency preparedness, mental illness, communicable diseases, first aid, dental radiology, and child abuse recognition and prevention.

The Ohio Board of Nursing, the Ohio State Dental Board, the Ohio Psychological Association, the Board of Examiners for Nursing Home Administrators, and The State of Ohio Counselor, Social Worker, and Marriage and Family Therapist Board, among others accept Continuing Education Hours for some classes offered through Community Learning.
