What Education Do I Need?

What can I do to prepare for a career in Biotechnology as a HIGH SCHOOL student?

SUGGESTIONS FOR HIGH SCHOOL PREPARATION:

As a high school student, you begin to have the opportunity to make more choices in coursework and the level of course difficulty,

If you are thinking about a career in Biotechnology, it is important to take as many challenging science and math courses as possible.

Possibly your high school offers a specific program that is more vocationally oriented that focuses on Biotechnology. This could be a “Tech Prep” program which allows you to explore a career area at the high school level.

If you have an opportunity to participate in a Senior Project or Internship at your high school, try to explore local biotech companies in your area that may be willing to offer you a chance to gain an understanding of careers in the Biotech area.

BioEnterprise Corp. of Cleveland, created in 2002, recently completed a project to count Bioscience companies in Northeast Ohio.
