As I photographed blackfly larvae I also noticed these tiny nymphs. I assume they are water striders. It is difficult to see this in the image but they are suspended on a layer of water. This is a 3-4X magnification taken with dual flash units. Positioned just right, surface reflection of light off the water can be avoided.
