Hang around a peacock long enough and it will spread its tail if rival males or females show. This was the case at the San Diego Zoo. I cropped this from the larger image to show the exquisite detail in the feathers. This was a quick shot taken with a telephoto lens and flash in between "shakes" of the tail.
