LAKELAND STAFF ASSOCIATION

The Lakeland Staff Association (LSA) is your voice at Lakeland and, through its elected officers, serves as your liaison with Lakeland's administration in the development of policies and procedures that impact on your benefits and job satisfaction.  Membership is open to all full- and part-time staff.

The staff at Lakeland is encouraged to participate in the meetings of the Association.  This allows each individual to have a forum to discuss current policies and procedures as well as any other staff concerns.  In addition, the LSA periodically sponsors college wide social functions such as a picnic or holiday party.

We urge you to join the Lakeland Staff Association.  Membership is strictly voluntary, however.  The dues are $5.00, paid annually.  Membership in the LSA gives you the right to vote on issues at the meetings and for officers in the yearly election.

Officers

Purpose - What does the Lakeland Staff Association do?

• Sponsors several scholarships to students during the academic year by raising the funds through various events throughout the year.
• Sponsors the annual summer picnic and raffle.
• Plans social functions such as on-campus baseball games and off-campus events at Jacobs Field.
• Serves on important college committees.
• Participates in self development.
• Oversees Staff Professional Development funds.
• Participates in selection of college-wide awards and recognition programs.
• Participates in monthly meetings with college administration
• Sponsors the annual Adopt-a-Family fundraiser

Accomplishments - What can LSA do for you?

• Increased annual raises for part-time employees
• Lockers for staff in the AFC
• Service Awards for Non Continuing Employees
• Implemented the Buddy System to welcome new employees
• $2100 in scholarship money raised
• $1500 raised for the Clothe-a-Child campaign
• Sunshine Committee sent flowers to LSA members
