Study Tour to Czech Republic Philip J. Skerry received his B.A. from the University of Massachusetts in 1966, his M.A. from Western Reserve University in 1968, and his Ph.D. from Indiana University of Pennsylvania in 1975. His did his dissertation on the historical tragedies of Byron, and his major training was in British Literature; however, he always had a secret love for movies , and over the years he has switched his allegiance to cinema studies (but he still loves Brit. Lit!). He indulges his passion for films by teaching courses in the art of film, the films of Hitchcock, film noir, screwball comedy, and Shakespeare on the screen. He has also taken students to Hollywood to study the film industry and to the Cannes film festival to experience international cinema. Dr. Skerry has published numerous articles on both literature and film ( see publications below) At present, he is working on a study of Hitchcock's Psycho.
