Computer Forensic Technology Concentration Now Transfers!

Lakeland Community College is proud to announce the first Computer Forensic Technology Concentration in Ohio now has an articulation degree with Defiance College. The Associate of Applied Science criminal justice degree’s Computer Forensics Technology Concentration provides students with the basic knowledge and skills to utilize and apply computer forensic services and software tools to criminal investigation. Students will be prepared through courses covering security, compute operations, basic forensics, and much more.

Career Opportunities

• Employment opportunities exist in federal, state, local and private agencies
• Six of the top 30 jobs in America are computer-based, such as network systems analysts, engineers, administrators or technicians (based on job growth projections and salary date from the Bureau of Labor Statistics’ 2010-11 Occupational Outlook Handbook).
• Computer systems design and related services are expected to increase by 20.0%, between 2008-2018, with forensic science technician’s positions expected to increase by 30.7%! (Bureau of Labor Standards, 2010-11.)

Therefore, Lakeland Community College students can now pursue advanced skills, knowledge and careers, supported by this new seamless transfer agreement with Defiance College’s Bachelor of Science degree in Criminal Justice.

IT Security Certificate

This certificate provides students with a focus on computer operations and security. It provides basic knowledge and skills to utilize and apply computer forensic services and software tools to criminal investigation.
