Distance Education is a formal educational process where the majority of the instruction occurs when the student and instructor are not in the same place; instruction may be synchronous or asynchronous. Distance Education may also employ correspondence study, as wall as audio, video or computer technologies. Here at Lakeland, Distance Education reaches students utilizing telecourse programs, online courses and teleclassroom courses.

ONLINE COURSES are offered through the Internet. The course site authoring and management software, Blackboard, is now in use allowing faculty members to generate the interactive multimedia online courses in a simple non-coding way. Contact Melissa Zhuo for more information.
