Lakeland Community College is pleased to partner with Oracle Corporation's relational database products and application development tools through the Oracle Academy. This is Lakeland's effort to provide education in the community and extend opportunities to gain proficiency in the Oracle database.

All courses carry Lakeland's academic credit and may be used toward various degrees or certificates. Students can also complete our courses as continuing education and retooling in preparation for employment or Oracle certification exams.

What do I have to do to be admitted to Lakeland?

How long will this take?
The degree programs are designed for two years of full time study. How long you will take depends on how many hours you can safely dedicate to study
What is the difference between a certificate and certification?
The certificate is an academic training program designed to prepare you in one specific skill set. The certification is a vendor-specific or vendor-neutral set of exams that show some degree of proficiency in a specific skill. The certification exams are not given by Lakeland faculty.

Northeast Ohio Oracle Users Group http://www.neooug.org/
The Northeast Ohio Oracle Users Group (NEOOUG) was established in 1989 for the purpose of sharing information among the user community of the Oracle relational database system offered by Oracle Corporation. Members are mostly DBAs and Application Developers who work with Oracle products on a day to day basis.

Where can I take the tests?
While the location and timing of the vendor exams are up to you, you may register for an Oracle Certification Exam through Prometric at: http://www.prometric.com/default.htm. Stay tuned, as Lakeland will soon be offering Prometric exams on campus.

You may also email Professor Jennifer Crissman (see below for email address) for a voucher to receive a discount on certification exams. Vouchers are limited to students currently enrolled in an Oracle class at Lakeland.
